

Born in Yadkin County on March 4, 1939, she was the daughter of the late Arthur Monroe Spainhour and Bessie Ellen Adams Spainhour.
Mrs. Loflin graduated from high school and the Institute of Financial Education and worked in the banking industry for many years, having retired as Branch Manager at the First American Federal Savings & Loan – Harmony Branch. She was of the Baptist faith, and enjoyed reading, gardening, sewing, writing, traveling and collecting dolls. Theda also served on the Tri-County Health Board, sponsored a children’s baseball team, and created the Squirrels Club for Kids. She was a “mother” to many.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by one brother, James Monroe Spainhour, and her husband of 52 years, John Franklin Loflin. He passed away on January 27, 2010.
Those left to cherish her memory are her sisters, Lola Ellen Barrett of Jonesville and Gerry (Boyd) Barker of King; sister-in-law, Linda Heath, and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends Tuesday, June 28, 2016 from 10:30 AM – 11:00 AM at The Ernest M. Troutman Memorial Chapel with the funeral service beginning at 11:00 AM with Curtis Hepler officiating. Burial will be at Harmony Cemetery.
Memorial donations may be made to the charity of choice, especially to children.
