

Virginia Elizabeth Cartner "Lib" Campbell of Harmony, died Dec. 20, 2015 at Iredell Memorial Hospital. She was born Dec. 27, 1927 in Davie County, daughter of the late Jessie Lee Cartner and Lydia Godbey Cartner. Lib was a lifelong member of Salem UM Church and the Salem UM Women. She was a Seamstress and worked at T & V Specialties and was also a former member of the Harmony VF Dept. Ladies Auxiliary.
On Nov. 25, 1950, she married Glen Campbell who survives of the home. In addition to her parents she was preceded by sons, Glenn Perry Campbell and Richard Darnell Campbell; also sisters, Mae Troutman, and Mary Blanche Morrison; and brothers, Jessie Lee Cartner Jr. and Claude Cartner.
Those left to cherish her memory are son, David Lee Campbell, (Nancy) and daughter-in-law Shelia Campbell all of Harmony; grandchildren, Michele Shue (Todd), Nichole Lentz (Jason) Jeremiah Campbell and fianc Heather Myers, Joanna Campbell; great-grandchildren are Trevor, Olivia and Vera Shue, also Tanner Addison, Peyton Lentz and Morgen Campbell; step-grandchildren are Scott Millsaps, Lisa Lail; and step-great-grandchildren Maysie Webb, Joshua and Sidney Lail.
The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at Salem United Methodist Church, 169 Salem Church Rd. Mocksville, NC 27028. A service for the celebration of Lib's Life will be held Wednesday Dec. 23. at 10 a.m. at Salem United Methodist Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
