Ann S. Crow, of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully on March 17, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family. Born March 3, 1950, in Scranton, she was the daughter of Cornelius and Johanna (O’Neill) Mulherin.
Ann earned a Master’s degree in Rehabilitation Counseling from the University of Scranton. She had a long and distinguished career with the Caron Foundation, supporting individuals and families affected by addiction and related challenges. In 1991, she opened her own private practice, continuing her work guiding people toward healthier relationships, personal growth, and recovery.
She authored several influential books, including Grandchildren of Alcoholics: Another Generation of Codependency and Overcoming Perfectionism: Finding the Key to Balance and Self-Acceptance, which helped countless readers better understand family patterns and emotional well-being.
Ann’s life was marked by love and generosity. In 2005, when her husband’s sister and brother-in-law passed away, she opened her home and heart, raising their children as her own.
She is survived by her husband, Charles Crow; her children, Jeffrey Warren (Christine) of Clermont, Florida, and Lindsay Crow (Matthew) of Columbia, Maryland; her stepson, Matthew Crow (Joni) of Lock Haven, Pennsylvania; her sisters, Kathleen Scott (George) of Harrisburg, Eileen Mulherin of New Orleans, and Margaret Hayden (John) of Boston; and her grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her stepsons, David Crow and Stephen Crow, and her grandson, Benjamin Warren.
Ann was known for her warmth, intelligence, and unwavering dedication to those she loved. She had a remarkable ability to make everyone feel heard, valued, and supported, whether in her professional life or at home. Her kindness, wisdom, and gentle humor left a lasting impression on family, friends, clients, and colleagues alike. She will be remembered not only for her accomplishments but for the love and generosity that defined her life.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 18, from 10 a.m. to noon at Neill Funeral Home.
