He was born May 8, 1942, in Harrisburg; he was the son of the late Woodrow Wilson Marsh and Betty Jane Carlisle .
He was a retired employee from Taylor Wharton Cylinders, with 42 years of service and a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War.
He is survived by his daughter, Michelle I. Malseed, husband, Leroy Jr., of Enola; three sons, James A. Sprenkle and Cleveland E. Marsh, both of Harrisburg, and Charlie E. Marsh, wife, Ruth, of Palmyra; 12 grandchildren; seven sisters, Barbara Layton and Maryella Hanzel, both of Flagler Beach, FL., Margaret Lear, of E. Waterford, Emma Rose and Elsie Speroff, both of dauphin, Patricia Brindle, of Chambersburg and Betty Jane Smith, of Harrisburg; three brothers, William C. Loper, of New Cumberland, Richard J. Loper and Leroy Shive, both of Harrisburg; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Charles loved to pan for gold, skydiving, golfing, softball, and spending time with his family.
Memorial Service will be held 12:00 PM Saturday, May 4, 2013 in the Neill Funeral Home, 3501 Derry St., Harrisburg. A visitation will be at 10:00 AM till the time of service.
