
He was born in Rutherford Heights, Pennsylvania and retired as a body and fender mechanic from Central Lincoln/Mercury. He was an avid car racing fan and frequented the races at Williams Grove Speedway. Charlie loved to bowl and won the 1965 PP&L League Title, the Mixed Couples Championship at the Colonial Park Lanes and received a certificate for the Outstanding Series in the Golden Agers Bowling League in 2005 with a total score of 609.
He was the husband of the late Elizabeth (Auman) Walters, son of the late Charles and Ada Walters, brother of the late Richard Walters of Kentucky, and uncle of the late Richard Sucec of Dover.
He is survived by a brother Donald Walters of Mechanicsburg, sisters Fern Sucec of Harrisburg, Gloria Walters of Harrisburg and June Loose of Lititz. Also surviving are four nephews and two nieces.
There will be a viewing at the Neill Funeral Home, 3501 Derry Street, Harrisburg, from 10:00 – 11:00, immediately followed by the funeral service officiated by the Rev. Dennis Loose. Interment will be in the Hanoverdale Cemetery.
Memorial contributions can be made in Charles’ memory to the Homeland Center or Homeland Hospice at 1901 North Fifth Street, Harrisburg, PA 17102.
