She was born December 8, 1915, in Williamsport; she was the daughter of the late Louis and Josephine Paternostro; and preceded in death by her husband, Dean J. Vannucci; 4 brothers, Ralph, Angelo, Frank and Tom; and 3 sisters, Mary, Theresa and Carmen (Sister Angela Merici).
She is survived by her son, Deacon Eugene Vannucci, of Lancaster; her daughter, Ann Marie Sheetz, of Harrisburg; 4 grandchildren, Greg Vannucci, Karen Biondolillo, Kevin Sheetz and Douglas Sheetz; 7 great-grandchildren, Tyler, TJ, Danny, Lindsay, Sasha, Ethan and Henry. Also, predeceased by her granddaughter, Lisa Vannucci.
She was a devoted member of St. Catherine Laboure Catholic Church, where she was a charter member and the oldest parishioner. She was an extraordinary minister, lector, past president of the Coffee Cup, and organized trips. She was a member of the Council of Catholic Women, Legion of Mary and the Arimatheans.
During her life she worked for the Union Deposit Corp., Catholic Diocese of Harrisburg and St. Catherine Laboure Church office.
In her leisure time she enjoyed knitting, crocheting, taught ceramics, the casino and music and dancing.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11:00 AM Tuesday, May 22, 2018 at St. Catherine Laboure Church, 4000 Derry St., Harrisburg. Burial will be at Holy Cross Cemetery. A viewing will be held 10:00 AM Tuesday until the time of the service at the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to her church, 4000 Derry St., Harrisburg, PA 17111.
