

David E. Wahl, Sr., of Lower Paxton Twp., passed away on Tuesday, September 1, 2015, in Community General Hospital. Dave was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. Prior to retirement, he had a long career in the commercial printing industry, much of it with the McFarland Co. and Armstrong Printery in Harrisburg. He served as a member of the US Army National Guard in the 1960s, and for a time, taught Industrial Arts in the Harrisburg School District. He loved doing anything with his hands (including yardwork), and was an especially skilled self-taught carpenter. Dave is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Jo-Ann (Borata) Wahl; his three children: Valerie (Joseph) Martellaro of Penbrook; David E., Jr. of Swatara Twp.; and Eric (and partner Eric Coverdale), of Milford, DE. He also is survived by a grandson, Michael Martellaro, and several nieces and nephews. Dave also is survived by a brother, Fred (Evelyn) Wahl, of Middletown. He was preceded in death by his mother, Theresa Warfel, and brothers Wilbur Unanst, Harry Albright, and Barry Albright. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 5, at 11 AM at St. Mark's Lutheran Church, 4200 Londonderry Rd., Lower Paxton Twp. The family will receive visitors at the church prior to the service, from 10 AM - 11 AM. The family requests that memorial contributions be made to St. Mark's Lutheran Church or Pinnacle Health ICU at Community General 4300 Londonderry Rd. Harrisburg, PA 17109.
