Donald Eugene Boyanowski

Donald E. Boyanowski Sr., 80, of Palmyra, passed away surrounded by his loved ones on Tuesday, March 26, 2019 at the Palmyra Heritage House. He was born January 11, 1939, in Harrisburg; he was the son of the late William and Esther (Neumyer) Boyanowski; and preceded in death by his son, Glenn E. Boyanowski; and brothers, William, Richard, Arthur, Robert, Harry and Fred. Surviving is his wife of 62 years, Dorothy A. (Lentz) Boyanowski; 2 daughters, Donna J. Sanchez (Jim), of New Lisbon, NJ and Ronni Nye-Keller (Rodney), of Hummelstown; son, Donald Boyanowski Jr. (Debra), of Hummelstown; 9 grandchildren, Carrie Campagna, Elise Sharpless, Jon Sanchez, Erica and Ryan Nye, Emmett, Evan, Elli and Owen Boyanowski; 6 great-grandchildren, Anna and Abigail Campagna, Ella and Haily Sharpless and Giselle and Olivia Nye; and brothers, George and Wally. Donald served in the US Air Force and was a Veteran of the Korean War. He was the Director of Transportation at the Capital Area Intermediate Unit (CAIU) for over 20 years. He left the CAIU in 1993 and started his own transportation services company. He was the founder and President of Boyo Transportation Services Inc. Donald was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend to many. He loved to help others and was a volunteer with the Special Olympics. “Mr. B”, as he was known around the little league baseball and soccer fields, loved to coach and teach kids about sports and life. All the kids loved him. He enjoyed watching sports and more importantly attending his grandchildren’s sporting events. He attended the Hershey Free Church and the Community Bible Church in Palmyra for many years. He was an avid golfer, woodworker and like to buy and sell antiques. Him and his “Honey” owned and operated Country Corner Crafts for several years. He had several nicknames: Bo, Shorty, Epp, Pop and Senior, but was known better for his jokes and nicknames he had for others. He will be greatly missed by many. A Celebration of Life Service will be held 2:30 PM Sunday, March 31, 2019 at the Hershey Free Church, 330 Hilltop Rd., Hummelstown. Private burial will be at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery.
