Born May 26, 1929, he was the son of the late Harvey and Katherine Stouffer Parr.
He was a retired Conrail engineer with 44 years of service, a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean Conflict, and a member of the VFW Post 1213 and the Lawnton American Legion Post 998.
“Parry” as he was affectionately known to family and friends, is survived by his wife of 54 years, Janet L. Parr; son, John M. Parr; and his granddaughter, Hannah N. Bridi-Parr. The affection and closeness of his family provided great joy for this devoted husband and father whose calm demeanor was a comfort for all of us. The members of the Pagano family will miss his cheerful spirit and genuine concern, especially as he cared for our mother, Carmella.
A staunch Phillies fan, he enjoyed watching his favorite ice hockey teams, as well.
Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, March 9, 2011 at 11:00 in the Neill Funeral Home, 3501 Derry St., Harrisburg, with Reverend Neil Sullivan officiating. Viewing will be held from 10:00 until the time of service. Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, 1019 Mumma Rd., Wormleysburg, PA 17043.
