Born April 18, 1932 in Lima, Peru,as Doris Torres Ponce De Leon, she was the daughter of the late Jesus Torres Dianderas and Luisa Ponce De Leon; and preceded in death by her husbands, Jakov Soce and Rudolfo “Rudy” Laus; and her son, Nicholas Laus.
Surviving is her son, John R. Laus; daughter, Anita L. Chilmaza and her husband, Armando; two grandsons, Armando Chilmaza and his wife, Jennifer and Anthony Chilmaza and his wife, Ugonnah; a granddaughter, Chanelle McCoy and her husband, Ned; five great-grandchildren, Aviana, Acen, Crew, Reina and Matteo; and two sisters, Rebecca Smith and Isabelle La Torre.
She was the owner of the Doris Soce Italian Pizza and Subs, of Rutherford, a retired employee of Dauphin County, with 38 years of service and she was an elected Committee Woman in Swatara Twp.
Doris has also been a hero, an idol and a model for so many people in the Spanish community. She was one of a kind and will be forever remembered.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11:00 AM Tuesday, September 16, 2025 at St. Catherine Laboure Catholic Church, 4000 Derry St., Harrisburg. Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery. A viewing will be from 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM Tuesday at Neill Funeral Home, 3501 Derry St., Harrisburg.
