

Edwin David Jones, Jr. (Teddy) of Harrisburg, PA, entered into the presence of his Savior, Jesus Christ, on January 2, 2011. He was born to Edwin D. Jones and Gertrude Carter Jones on November 30, 1936, in Taylor, PA. He graduated from Taylor High School in 1954 and Lackawanna Junior College in 1956. He was employed by the Moffat Coal Company. He served in the US Army, 8th Cavalry Division MASH Unit in South Korea from 1960 to 1963. Upon discharge, he was briefly employed by the Third National Bank in Taylor. He retired from the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Comptrollers Unit in 2001.
Edwin was an active member of Trinity Evangelical Congregational Church, Harrisburg. He was proud of his Welsh Heritage. An avid reader, his favorite topics included Welsh history, the history of Evangelical Christianity, the history of his hometown Taylor and the anthracite region. He enjoyed traditional Gymanfa Ganus, as well as brass band, piano, organ, and choral music. Gardening and day trips also occupied his leisure.
He is survived by his wife, Carol Mohl-Jones, a sister Sandra, wife of Robert J. Davis, Taylor, a sister Christine, wife of Victor Peditto, Pembrooke Pines, Florida, nieces and nephews, and a host of loving and supportive friends and relatives.
A viewing will be held 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM Thursday, January 6, 2011, in the Neill Funeral Home, 3501 Derry Street, Harrisburg, PA. Burial will be held at 10:00 AM Friday, January 7, 2011 at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery. A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, January 7, 2011 in Trinity Evangelical Congregational Church, a visitation will be held at 1:00 PM to time of service.
