Frederick W. Dougherty, Sr., of Middletown, PA, passed away peacefully on July 30, 2022. He is survived by his loving wife Beverly, son Fred, Jr., (wife Jeanne), daughter Dori Durborow, (husband Tom), and his younger brother Ron, (wife Dolly), and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Fred, also known by many as Doc, was born in Harrisburg, PA on August 6, 1933, the son of William and Clara (Shafer) Dougherty, and was preceded in death by his son William and his brother Paul (Gene). He attended William Penn High school until he volunteered to serve his country in the Army during the Korean War. He retired from Manley Reagan Chemical Co. in Middletown, Pa. where he worked tirelessly for many years to support his family. He and his wife enjoyed spending time at local VFW's and other clubs where music and dancing were featured. He also served on the VFW Honor Guard. Visitation will be at 9:30 am Thursday, August 11, 2022, followed by a brief service at 10:30 am at Neill Funeral Home, 3501 Derry St., Harrisburg. Interment will follow at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery at 12:30 pm. In lieu of flowers the family requests that you please consider a donation to The Wounded Warriors Project.
