She was born August 25, 1930 in Charlottesville, VA. She was the daughter of the late Carl and Gertie (Toombs) Sandridge; and preceded in death by her husband Marvin Braithwaite Sr; and her son Marvin Braithwaite, Jr. Surviving are her 4 daughters, Linda Neal and husband Daryl of Camp Hill, Doris Pacheco and husband Manuel of Carlisle, Debra Dolbec and fiance` Arnie of Carlisle, and Cindy Updegrove and husband Richard of Frederick, MD., 8 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
Helen will always be remembered for her beautiful smile and always singing songs. She loved spending time with her family. She always looked forward to special occassions such as birthdays, and holiday celebrations with family and friends.
She enjoyed playing bingo and cards with her family and friends.
She was a loving mother, wife, grandmother, and great grandmother and a very dear friend to all who knew her. She had a heart of gold that was as wide as the world. She will be deeply missed by all.
We would like to extend our gratitude to the staff at Residential Hospice that reached out to care for our mother, as well as, the nurses, the Chaplain, the music teacher and the social workers.
Graveside Service will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday, September 26, 2019 at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens,
6701 Jonestown Rd., Harrisburg.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Residential Hospice in Carlisle, PA.
