Helen Matangos, 86, of Harrisburg, fell asleep in the Lord Monday, January 21, 2019 at her home. She was born February 15, 1932 in Perithori, Arcadia, Greece; she was the daughter of the late Panayiotis and Yeoryia (Bicos) Bentevis; and preceded in death by her husband, Harry C. Matangos; brother, Stavros Bentevis; and sister, Antigone Soumakis. Helen is survived by 3 sons, Christopher Matangos (wife,Penny), Pete Matangos and George Matangos (wife,Elaine); daughter, Erine M. Matangos (Joseph Goncalves); and her much loved 6 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren; 3 sisters, Ismini Bouzalas, Diamanto Charisopoulos and Despina Panou; and brother, John Bentevis. She was owner and operator of Matangos Candies of Harrisburg; a member of Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Cathedral and the Philptochos Society. Funeral Service will be held at 11:30 AM Thursday, January 24, 2019 at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Cathedral, 1000 Yverdon Dr., Camp Hill. Burial will be in East Harrisburg Cemetery. A viewing will be held from 10:00 AM Thursday until the time of the service at the church. Memorial donations may be made to her church, 1000 Yverdon Dr., Camp Hill, PA 17011.
