Ida L. Ward

August 3, 1915November 11, 2020

Ida L. Ward, 105, of Harrisburg, went to be with the Lord Wednesday, November 11, 2020 at UPMC Osteopathic Hospital. Born August 3, 1915 in Altoona, PA; she was the daughter of the late Archibald and Irene Puckle; preceded in death by her husband, Edgar L. Ward; 2 sisters, Dottie and Alice; and brother, Archie. Surviving are her three sons, Robert L. Ward (Maggie), Dennis F. Ward (Cindy) and Keith A. Ward; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Ida worked for the Harrisburg Steel Co., Christian Publications and the Commonwealth of PA. She was a graduate of the Christian & Missionary Alliance College, Nyack, NY and served the Alliance Church as a missionary at Ash Camp, Kentucky and working with kids at Newark, NJ. Her three sons and two daughters-in-law were her pride and joy and she loved when they spent time with her. She also loved her kitty Buddy who she always talked about when she met someone new. Her presence will be deeply missed. Funeral Service will be held 1:00 PM Wednesday, November 18, 2020 in the Neill Funeral Home Inc., 3401 Market St., Camp Hill. Burial will be in Rolling Green Cemetery. A visitation will be from 12:00 PM Wednesday to the time of service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 2595 Interstate Dr., Ste 100, Harrisburg, PA 17110.

    She was preceded in death by her parents; Archibald and Irene Puckle, her husband, Edgar L. Ward, two sisters, Dottie and Alice, and her brother, Archie.
