
James Michael Noel, 64, of Harrisburg, passed away Monday, March 7, 2016. He was born March 17, 1951, in Chambersburg and was the son of the late James M. and Doris (Beam) Noel. Surviving is his son, Scott M. Noel, (Lisa); his sister, Sandra M. Yip; and 4 grandchildren, Elijah, Caitlyn, Kamerine and Nicholas. James proudly and honorably served in the U. S. Marine Corps for eight years. Throughout his life he never lost his love for the Corps. He received a BA in Psychology from Shippensburg University, attended Widener University School of Law and attended graduate courses in Administration of Justice at Shippensburg University. Retired from the Commonwealth of PA where his last position was Program Manager of the Medical Assistance Transportation Program, Noel was a Mental Health Program Specialist with the Office of Mental Health where he facilitated the first Disaster Response Training for Mental Health Response Teams and Disaster Coordinators in Commonwealth of PA. He also served as a Program Specialist for the Bureau of Child Support Enforcement and an Adjudicator for Social Security Disability. Previously he served as director of numerous human services facilities in Franklin and Cumberland Counties as well as being a Mental Health Therapist at Holy Spirit Hospital. He was a member of the Linglestown American Legion Post 272 and post 730, West End Republican Club, and the William Penn Social Association. Graveside Service will be held at 2:30 PM Tuesday, March 15, 2016 at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery.
