

James Nelson Boyd (Jimbo), 71, of Claremore, Oklahoma, formerly of Harrisburg, Pa., passed away on December 27, 2025 after suffering a severe cardiovascular attack on August 31, 2025. Jim was able to spend Christmas Day with his daughter’s family in Oklahoma before his sudden passing.
Jim was born on November 10, 1954 in Harrisburg, Pa. and was the son of John Robert Boyd of Boston, Mass. and Verna Mae Hinkel Boyd of Frackville, Pa. He was a proud graduate of the final graduating class of John Harris High School in 1971.
Jim was a retired employee of Standard Wheel and Rim Co. in Harrisburg, Pa. with over 30 years of service followed by over 13 years as an over-the-road driver for Schneider Trucking with over one million miles of accident free driving. He was an avid Philadelphia Phillies and Eagles fan and a fan of Penn State football.
Jim is survived by his daughter Jennifer 48, her husband Dan Ross, and their sons Logan 27, and the twins Landon and Laken 13, of Skiatook, Oklahoma; and his son Senior Master Sergeant (SMSgt) USAF Chad Boyd 46, and his daughters Mia 18, and Kalea 16, of Sun Prairie, Wisconsin. Jim was extremely proud of Chad and Jen and considered Dan a second son. His grandchildren were the light of his life and he would never fail to include all of them in every conversation. Jim is also survived by his partner Julia of Claremore, Oklahoma and his brother Bradley Neil 75, of Raleigh, N.C.
Jim was preceded in death by his brothers Carl Randall of Enola, Pa., Robert Michael of Middletown, Pa., and David Richard of Middletown, Pa.
Jim will be deeply missed and fondly remembered.
Funeral services will be held at Neill Funeral Home 3501 Derry Street in Harrisburg, Pa. on Monday, January 19, at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Harrisburg East Cemetery, 2260 Herr Street, Harrisburg, Pa.
