Margaret “Peg” Koppenhaver was born December 26, 1947 and went to be with the Lord on July 16, 2025. She was preceded in death by her mother and father, Nancy and Donald Koppenhaver and her brothers- David,Jeffrey, and Andrew Koppenhaver. She is survived by many loving nieces and nephews. Peg worked at Three Mile Island for 18 years as an armed security officer. During her tenure there, she put in long hours during the partial nuclear meltdown traveling back and forth from her home in Dillsburg where she cared for her horses on her farmette. It was during her time at the power plant where she accepted the Lord Jesus as her savior. She spent the last 7-8 years at Milton Hershey School before fully retiring at age 63. She enjoyed gardening, cooking and baking, riding bikes, and making all occasion cards for her friends which showcased her artistic talent and sense of humor. She had a passion for writing and published a children's book.
One of her calls to ministry was to help the homeless in Harrisburg; so along with a dear friend, they formed a "Backpack Ministry" filling and handing out backpacks to the homeless. She volunteered with Child Evangelism Fellowship. Listening to her stories about the love she had for the children proved how much they enjoyed her and the gummy chicken feet she would give out. She gave generously to many ministries near and far.
She was very blessed to have so many close friends, neighbors and those in her church family.
