Marian Sellitto, 88, passed away Monday, December 24, 2012, of Harrisburg, and formerly York, and Susquehanna, PA where she resided most of her life. She lived with and has been lovingly cared for by her devoted daughter for the last 6 years of her life. Born September 9, 1924 in Forest City, PA, she was the daughter of the late Michelina and William Miliauskas; and was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Sellitto; her infant son, Ralph Sellitto Jr.; her sisters, Jean Shalna and Aldona Bagniewski; and her brother, Joseph Miles.
Surviving is her daughter, Michele (DeSera Bortner) Sellitto, of Harrisburg; her son and daughter-in-law, Bill and Debbie Sellitto, of North Huntingdon, PA; her grandson, Scott Sellitto; her sisters, Veronica Kucnsky, of Avello, PA, and Cecilia Barechio, of Susquehanna, PA; and her special nieces, Stephanie Marshall D’Argenio and Shelley Marshall Doyle, both of Yardley, PA.
Marian was a member of St. Patrick’s Cathedral in Harrisburg and formerly St. John’s Catholic Church in Susquehanna, PA.
Marian met her husband Ralph at age 14, and married October 23, 1946 until his death in 1990. She was an Honors Graduate of Forest City High School, Class of 1942, a homemaker and member of the Susquehanna Borough Council for 6 years, and Democratic Committee Woman for Susquehanna Borough. She was a member of the Susquehanna County Democratic Women’s Club, York County Democratic Women’s Club and Tri-County Democratic Women’s Club.
A viewing will be held from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Thursday, December 27, 2012 in the Neill Funeral Home, 3501 Derry St., Harrisburg, with the recitation of the Rosary at 7:30 PM.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM Friday, December 28, 2012, from the Parish of St. Patrick Cathedral, 212 State St. Harrisburg, PA.
Graveside service will be held 11:00 AM, Saturday, December 29, 2012, at St. Anthony’s Cemetery, Forest City, PA.
