

Mary E. Lazur (Slezak), 85, a resident at the Ecumenical Center, Harrisburg, PA, passed away early Monday morning, January 26, 2015. Born in Weatherly, PA, Mary was the daughter of the late Raymond Slezak, Sr. and Elizabeth (Mulchisky) Slezak. She was employed as a registered nurse with various hospitals and with Villa Teresa as Director of Inservice Education. She was a faithful member of St. Margaret Mary Church in Harrisburg, where she served as an Eucharistic Minister, hospital liaison, CCD Teacher, member of the parish CCW, and volunteer at the Diocesan Center of Harrisburg. Preceding her in death was her husband John Joseph Lazur in 1980. Surviving are two daughters: Kathleen Hess and her husband James of Douglassville, and Marylou Martz and her husband Karl of Harrisburg, a son John A. and his wife Janet also of Harrisburg, and five grandchildren: Jennifer Gould and her husband Robert of Willow Grove, Benjamin Hess and his wife Sara of Salt Lake City, UT, Matthew Martz and his wife Linda of Chapel Hill, NC, Aubrey and Blake Lazur of Harrisburg; two great grandchildren: Ella and Molly Gould; one sister, Margaret Dingman and her husband Frank of Levittown, and brother Raymond Slezak of Weatherly. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday January 31st at 11am in St. Margaret Mary Church, with Rev. Persing celebrating. Interment will be in Resurrection Cemetery, Harrisburg. Visitation will be held at the Neill Funeral Home, 3501 Derry Street, Harrisburg, Thursday, January 29th from 7 to 9pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Margaret Mary Church, 2800 Paxton Church Rd, Harrisburg, PA, 17110. She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.
