Michael S. Powers, 52, of Paxtang, passed away Sunday as a result of an accident. He was born July 31, 1966, in Philadelphia; he was the son of the late Michael E. Powers. He is survived by his mother, Donna J. (Galloway) Powers; brother, Craig E. Powers (Lisa); niece, Mollie M. Powers; 3 aunts, Yvonne Powers Rosenberger (late, Mike Ross) and their daughter, Deborah Krekstein, Gail Smith (Johnnie) and Cheryl A. Campbell (Bryan); 2 uncles, R. Keith Galloway (Patti) and Scott Doyle Galloway (Denise); and several cousins. Michael was the Head Bartender at the Boiling Springs Tavern, with 24 years of service. Graduate of Penn State University, class of '89 and Central Dauphin East High School, class of '84. He was an Eagle Scout, order of the Arrow for Troup 301 Good Shepherd Lutheran Church. Michael loved to read, enjoyed life, traveling, his friends and listening to peoples' stories. He loved animals, especially his cats, feeding the ducks, Penn State football and the LA Raiders. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, December 14, 2018 at Paxton Presbyterian Church, 3500 Sharon St., Harrisburg. Private burial will be in Paxtang Cemetery. A visitation will be held from 9:00 AM Friday until the time of the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, Bethesda Mission, SPCA or to an Animal Rescue of your choice.
