Nancy Belknap Cooker, 83, of Harrisburg, quietly and peacefully entered into Heaven surrounded by her loving family on Wednesday, November 21, 2018 at Harrisburg Hospital. She was born February 25, 1935 in Harrisburg. She was preceded in death by her parents Jonathan S. and Faye L. (Wolfe) Belknap. She is survived by her beloved husband, William W. Cooker, Jr., and they would have celebrated 60 years of marriage Feb. 14, 2019; Daughters, Cindy E. Pace (David), and Chery L. Beachley (Michael); and Brothers-In-Law, John E. Cooker (Debbie) and Thomas C. Cooker (Brenda). Nancy was "Nanny" to 6 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren whom she dearly loved and they adored her; Grandchildren Katie F. Kravets (Alex), Kerie A. Romberger (Jeff), Todd M. Beachley, Corey D. Knoble, Lindsey N. Pace and Christopher S. Pace; Great-grandchildren, Everett, Theodore and Sebastian Kravets; Connor, Ellie Nance, Jayce and Carter Romberger; and Skylar and Tanner Pace. Nancy had many great friends, classmates and neighbors who cherished and loved her dearly. She was a vibrant cheerleader for and a proud graduate of John Harris High School, Class of 1953. She served as class secretary, a position she treasured and continued throughout her life having just planned the 65th Class Reunion. She worked as office manager for more than 40 years at the former Pennsylvania Savings and Loan League. Upon retiring, Nancy and Bill enjoyed many wonderful years of traveling, and taking joy in their shared hobbies. Nancy was an extremely talented artist and a great cook. She was best known for her amazing sand tarts and pot pies. She was passionate about flowers and loved to garden. Nancy and Bill attend Charleston United Methodist Church. A Celebration of Nancy's Life will be held at 12:00 Noon, Wednesday, November 28, 2018, at the Neill Funeral Home, 3501 Derry St., Harrisburg. Visitation will be 10 a.m.-12 Noon preceding the service. Burial will be at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery immediately following. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in Nancy's honor to Make-A-Wish Foundation, 1054 New Holland Avenue, Lancaster, PA 17601.
