Nancy J. Elder, 82, Harrisburg, passed away Thursday, July 28, 2022 at Oak Hill Village, Middletown. Born December 2, 1939 in Altoona; she was the daughter of the late Frank L and Jennie B. (Knox) Bovard; and preceded in death by her son, Matthew Elder. Surviving Is her brother, John Bovard, of Harrisburg; daughter-in-law, Shelly (Swartz) Elder; and 2 grandchildren, Andrew and Olivia Elder, all of Mifflintown. Nancy was a retired secretary for the U.S. Department of Defense, Harrisburg, a former secretary for Thompson Institute and Central Dauphin School District and worked as an aid in their Special Education Department. A Graveside Service will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, August 12, 2022 in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. A viewing will be from 10:00 AM to 10:30 AM Friday in the Neill Funeral Home, 3501 Derry St., Harrisburg.
