Nicholas A. Salandria, 91, of Harrisburg, passed away Thursday, October 28, 2021, at UPMC Harrisburg Hospital. Born June 7, 1930, in Philadelphia; he was the son of the late Ernest and Mary (Pellitti) Salandria; and preceded in death by his wife, Ernestina (Ametrano) Salandria; 2 sisters, Rose Capista and Victoria Devine; and brother, Vincent Salandria. Surviving is his daughter, Marianne S. Monroe, (Kyle); 2 grandchildren, Patrick Monroe, (Maranda) and Nicole Paul, (Dylan); 3 sisters, Flora Teti, Marie Cocco and Jeanne Diadorio, (John); a brother, Francis Salandria, (Marie); and numerous nieces and nephews. Nicholas worked in various departments for the State and retired from the Department of Financial Management as Bureau Director and a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War. He was a graduate of South Philadelphia High School, La Salle University and received a Master's degree from the University of Penn, Wharton School of Business. Nicholas was a member of St. Margaret Mary Alacoque Catholic Church, 2800 Paxton Church Rd., Harrisburg. Private burial will be in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery. A visitation will be from 10:00 AM, Tuesday, until the time of the service at the church.
