Peter came to America as a young boy and grew up in Ambridge, Pennsylvania. He joined the Army as a young man and fought in Korea where he was wounded and received the Purple Heart. After attending business school for accounting he came to Harrisburg to work at the state in the mid 1950’s where he met the love of his life Eleanor and raised their family in New Cumberland. His career with the state spanned many years where he held numerous positions including Director of Corporation Taxes, Director of Sales Tax and Treasurer of the Democratic Senate. His interest and involvement in politics was shared with his wife.
Peter spent 68 years as a member of the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church where he served many years on the board, as Treasurer , President and a member of the AHEPA. He cherished his religion and his Greek heritage. His involvement and dedication to the yearly Greek Festival was apparent to all that knew him. OPA!
And finally his greatest legacy is being the patriarch of his family. There is nothing he wouldn’t do for them. He loved going to the beach with his family where they made so many cherished memories. His wisdom and guidance was respected by them all and he will be leaving such a hole in their lives and in their hearts.
Our deepest thanks to Clairmont Nursing home and Hospice for All Seasons for taking such wonderful care of our father and grandfather.
