Born February 9, 1926, in Luthersburg, PA; he was the son of the late Floyd Eldridge and Leah Uvinza (Caldwell) Bigney; and preceded in death by his sister, Theo Mack; his brothers, Shirley Bigney, Glade Bigney, Roger Bigney and Trevor Bigney.
He graduated from Brady Township High School in 1943 and Dubois Business College in 1948.
Surviving is his wife of 70 years, Patricia A. (Phillippi) Bigney; he was “Uncle Dick” to his extended family of multi-generations nieces and nephews.
Richard was a retired Premium Auditor for Penn National Insurance Co. and a U.S. Navy veteran of WWII.
Richard was a former member of the 29th Street United Methodist Church and the former Christ United Methodist Church, Rutherford. He was a P.M. (1988) of Perseverance Lodge # 21 F&AM, the Harrisburg Consistory and Tall Cedars of Lebanon Forrest 43.
A Memorial Service will be held at a later date. Burial will be in Union Cemetery, Luthersburg, PA.
