Robert L. Enders

Robert L. Enders, 89, of Rutherford Heights, passed away Sunday, August 28, 2011 in the Community General Osteopathic Hospital. He was born 1922 in Harrisburg he was the son of the late Clair and Maude (Zimmerman) Enders.

He was a retired Safety Engineer and Consultant for Liberty Mutual Insurance Co., also a Mechanic for the Pennsylvania Railroad and a US Navy veteran of WW 2.

He was an active member of the Trinity Evangelical Congregational Church, and past president of its Gospel Messengers Sunday School Class, also a member of the American Society of Safety Engineers, Rutherford Lions Club, and the Oliveterans Senior Club.

Robert loved wood working, spending time at his camp in Tioga County with his son and best friends, fishing and hunting and harvested a 6 point buck last year. He also enjoyed his great grandchildren in their activities.

He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Barbara Baldwin Enders; daughter, Ronda Engle, husband, Robert; son, Robert Enders Jr., wife, Jeanie; grandson, Brett Billow; granddaughter, Amy Rimmer, husband, Alan; 2 great grandchildren, Sydney and Aiden Rimmer; and a sister, Linda Harper.

A Memorial Service will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday, September 7, 2011 in Trinity Evangelical Congregational Church, 165 N. 67th St., Harrisburg. Private burial will be held in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery.
