He was born on October 24, 1946, in Lower Merion, Pennsylvania.
He is survived by his wife MaryJo Jurenas Garraty, his daughter, Noel Garraty Stein and her husband Thomas Stein, his son Sean Garraty, his grandson Max Stein, and granddaughter Clara Stein. He is also survived by his brothers, William and David Garraty and their families.
Bob retired from the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania as Deputy Secretary of Labor and Industry. He spent his life trying to make the world a better place for others and he succeeded.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday April 30, 2021, at 11:00 am, at St. Catherine Laboure Church; 4000 Derry Street, Harrisburg, PA 17111. A visitation will be held from 10:00-11:00 am, in the church.
