Robert F. Kennell

Robert Francis Kennell, 84, of West Hanover Twp., passed away Thursday, March 19, 2015 at the M.S. Hershey Medical Center. Born May 20, 1930 in Ilion, NY; he was the son of the late Francis and Helen Kennell; and preceded in death by his wife, Jean M. (Rogers) Kennell, and his grandson, Jeffrey Weaver. Robert was the owner of Mohawk Arts Inc., a business he loved and never considered a job; and a U.S. Air Force veteran of the Korean War. He was a member of Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church, East Shore Kiwanis Club, Knights of Columbus Council 869, PA Sports Hall of Fame Capital Area Chapter, Penbrook American Legion Post 730, West Hanover Business Assn., Hershey/Palmyra Sertoma Club, Shellsville VFW Post 9639, West Hanover Lions Club, Hershey Italian Lodge, and the Hershey Bear Booster Club. Robert was a great college football fan especially the Penn State Nittany Lions. He is survived by his wife, Mary Agnes Mullen Kennell; 3 daughters, Lisa Kennell, of Camp Hill, Tracy (Albert) Banks, of Etters and Alyson (Patrick) Hurley, of Wheeling, WV; 2 stepdaughters, Jean M. Enders, of Harrisburg and Kathy (David) Dowling, of Enola; a stepson, James C. (Heather) Mullen, of Hagerstown, MD; 12 grandchildren, Christine, Lewis and Robert Weaver, Katelyn and Patrick Hurley, Gregory and Michael Banks, Sarah Enders, James and Mary Kathrine Mullen, Brenda Stallsmith and Jill Dowling; 3 great-grandchildren, Cordell and Camren Weaver and Alexandra Banks; a brother, Alan (Mamie) Kennell, of Frankfort, NY; and 2 sisters, Lois (Stanley) Ford and Jean (Gary) Greig, both of Ilion, NY. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11:00 AM Thursday, March 26, 2015 in Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church, 6150 Allentown Blvd., Harrisburg. Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery. A visitation will be held at 10:00 AM Thursday until the time of the service at the church.
