
Roberta L. Fisher, 66, of Harrisburg, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 21, 2012. She was preceded in death by her beloved and cherished husband, Richard H. Fisher and her parents, Rodney and Nina Smiley.
She is survived by her daughter Lisa Fisher Lubic, of Virginia, and husband, Jason; her son, Robert Fisher, of Harrisburg; four grandchildren, Joey and Riland Fisher and Lilli and Claire Lubic; her loving sister, Barbara Smiley Dagenhart; her brother, David Smiley and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Roberta was a 1963 graduate of John Harris High School and spent her early career as a hair stylist, styling for Ms. Pennsylvania in the Ms. America Pageant in the early 1970’s. Later in life she worked in the insurance industry. She volunteered as a cheerleading coach for the Susquehanna Football Association in the early 1980’s and also coordinated Special Olympics events locally. She co-founded a group called Sharing Friends that brought music and comfort to many local crisis centers. She was a member of St. Catherine Laboure Catholic Church in Harrisburg.
Roberta’s greatest joy was her family. She dedicated her life to helping others and was deeply devoted to the church and her faith in God. She will forever be remembered and loved by her family and close friends.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11:30a.m. on Monday, March 26, 2012 in St. Catherine Laboure Catholic Church, 4000 Derry Street, Harrisburg. The family will receive guests at the church starting at 10:30a.m.
