Ronald Edward Miller, 71, passed away on July 17, 2018, at his daughter’s home in Camp Hill, PA. He was born on May 3, 1947, in Newark, NJ, to the late Edward Moses Miller and Gloria Garbin of Scranton, PA. He is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Rose A. (Negron) Miller, son, Ronald E. Miller, Jr., and wife, Alisa Miller, daughters, Kim Miller and Dr. Jennifer Brown, and husband, Ted Brown. He is survived by his 3 grandchildren, Ronald Miller, Theodore Brown and Rose Brown, and also his sister, Maureen James, and husband Phil James, sisters-in-law, Jeanne Pires, Linda Negron, Susan Fross, and brothers-in-law, Sammy Negron and Al Fross, and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was a member of the New Jersey’s Carpenter’s Union for 50 years. He raised his family in Lake Ariel, PA, and where he was the builder and owner of Custom Carpentry Construction Company. He later returned to New Jersey to continue his career as a Vocational instructor for the N.J. Carpenter’s Apprentice school. He retired and moved to Vero Beach, FL with his wife and to continue his work as a master wood turner, creating unique, award winning pieces of Art. He was an active member of the Vero Beach Art club, where he made wonderful friendships and collaborations. He was an accomplished Billiards player, Army Veteran, Volunteer Fire fighter, and a member of the Catholic Church.
Most importantly, he was a loving husband, dedicated father and loved his family and friends. He enriched the lives of all that encountered his presence and will be dearly missed. Ron Miller battled Cancer like a warrior, just like he lived his life. AMDG
A Memorial Mass will be held on Saturday, July 21, 2018, at the Saint Patrick’s Cathedral in Harrisburg, PA, at 10:30 am. In lieu of flowers, a memorial donation can be made to the Dana Farber Cancer Institute of Boston, MA. or Kindred Hospice of Harrisburg, PA.
