Sandra L. "Sandi" Komaromy, 66, of Harrisburg, passed away Friday, March 15, 2019 at Hershey Medical Center. She was born August 9, 1952 in McKees Rocks; she was the daughter of late Stanley and Helen (Dombroski) Runsa. Surviving is her husband of 44 years, Jim Komaromy; daughter, Jennifer Komaromy (Anthony Merlino), of Ormond Beach, FL; son, Michael Komaromy (Ashley), of Carlisle; 2 grandchildren, Baylor and Pacey Komaromy; and sister, Donna Fisher, of Spring, TX. Sandi attended Duquesne University graduating in 1974 with an Elementary/Special Education degree. She started her teaching career as a second grade teacher at Holy Name of Jesus School before moving to the Harrisburg School District where she taught special education classes for 24 years retiring in 2014. Next to her family, she had two other loves in life. She thoroughly enjoyed taking pictures of her beloved Alaskan Malamutes and showing them as an owner/handler at AKC sanctioned shows. For many years, Sandi also loved tap dancing as a dancer/instructor at Vicki's Tap Pups, where she formed many lasting friendships. She was a member of Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church. A viewing will be held from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Thursday, March 21, 2019 in Neill Funeral Home, 3501 Derry St., Harrisburg and 10:30 AM Friday, March 22, 2019 in Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church, 6150 Allentown Blvd., following the Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 AM in the Church. Burial will be held at Resurrection Cemetery.
