Scott Maurer, 65, passed away on February 21, 2020 following a gallant battle with numerous illnesses. He was born in Lykens, PA on May 15, 1954 to Albert I. Maurer of Tremont, PA and Margaret E. (Seitzinger) Maurer of Tower City, PA and spent his youth in Jonestown, PA. He was a graduate of Northern Lebanon High School and Shippensburg University. He worked for many years in the money room at Penn National Race Course and also at Boscov's Department Store. Survived by his beloved wife, Deirdre DeAngelis of Harrisburg and his beloved son, Samuel A. Maurer, of San Francisco, CA; his mother, Margaret E. Maurer, of Harrisburg; two sisters, Rachel E. Peck, of Grantville, PA and Jennifer A. Maurer, of Harrisburg; as well as a son-in-law, Jeffrey D. Johnson, of San Francisco, CA; a brother-in-law, Paul F. Fraundorfer, of Harrisburg; a nephew, Matthew L. Peck of Grantville; and two nieces, Joy I. Fraundorfer and Grace I. Fraundorfer, both of Harrisburg. He was predeceased by his father, Albert I. Maurer; and a nephew, Jude I. Fraundorfer. Viewing will be held Wednesday, February 26, 2020 7-8pm at Neill Funeral Home in Harrisburg to be followed by a brief memorial. His ashes will be interred at Resurrection Cemetery Harrisburg at a later time.
