

He was born December 27, 1926 in Enhaut, PA; he was the son of the late Stephen J. and Josephine (Tuljus) Wilsbach Sr.; and preceded in death by his sisters, Pauline Fisher, Marie Smith and Josephine Smith; and his brother, Frank Wilsbach.
He attended the former Swatara Twp. High School and graduated from Harrisburg Catholic High School, class of 1944; he was a machinist for the former Reading Railroad and retired from Conrail; was a US Navy veteran of WWII; and was a former Judge of Elections for Swatara Twp. 4th Ward.
He was a member of St. Catherine Laboure Catholic Church, Lawnton American Legion Post 998, Rutherford VFW Post 1213, and the Dauphin County Golf League.
Steve helped refurbish steam engines, many of which are still running today, and he enjoyed painting with the Swatara Twp. Art Association.
He was active with the Wilhelm Youth Club, coaching little league and teener baseball, and its youth basketball.
Surviving is his wife of 67 years, Mary Ann (Backenstoss) Wilsbach; daughter, Lou Ann Mills, husband Cliff; son, Stephen J. Wilsbach III, wife Leslie, all of Harrisburg; and 3 grandchildren, Andrew, Christopher, and Alexis.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11:00 AM Thursday, October 30, 2014 at St. Catherine Laboure Catholic Church, 4000 Derry St., Harrisburg. Burial will be at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery. A visitation will be held from 10:00 AM Thursday until the time of the service at the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to his church; or to the American Lung Association.
