Thomas J. Chapman, 88, of Harrisburg, passed away Thursday, November 8, 2018 peacefully at home. Born July 9, 1930 in Centralia, PA; he was the son of the late Thomas F. and Flora R. (Farrell) Chapman. He was a retired locomotive engineer from the former Reading Railroad, with 38 years of service; in his retirement years, he was a self-taught furniture craftsman. He was a member of St. Margaret Mary Alacoque Catholic Church. Surviving is his wife of 68 years, Margaret C. (Kulenguskey) Chapman; son, Thomas B. Chapman, (Ellen); 3 daughters, Mary Lou Chapman, Margaret A. Hannaford, (George) and Arlene Smith, (Robert); 9 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; sister, Margaret M. Chapman and several nieces and nephews. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11:00 AM Tuesday, November 13, 2018 at St. Margaret Mary Alacoque Church, 2800 Paxton Church Rd., Harrisburg. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery. A viewing will be held at 10:00 AM Tuesday, November 13, 2018 until the service at the church.
