Thomas Hubert Flannery

Deacon Thomas H. Flannery, 80, of Harrisburg, passed away Tuesday, April 3, 2018 at his home. He was born December 26, 1937 in Reading, PA; he was the son of the late Hubert L. and Margaret R. (Bowe) Flannery; and preceded in death by his brother, Patrick Flannery. He is survived by his wife, Mary Ann Flannery; a son, Patrick T. Flannery, wife, Joanne, of Eastampton, NJ; a daughter, Louise Ann Flannery, companion, Mark R. Barlow, of Malvern; 2 granddaughters, Nicole Crabtree and Shannon Flannery; and 3 brothers, Joseph, Gerald and Daniel Flannery, all of Reading. Thomas was owner of Transport Trailer Service, Harrisburg; worked for Transcon Freight Lines, Mechanicsburg, and retired from Shaffer Trucking, New Kingston, and was a US Army veteran of the Korean War. Thomas was an Ordained Deacon on June 3, 1978 to the Permanent Diaconate of the Diocese of Harrisburg, and assigned to St. Catherine Laboure Catholic Church. He was a member of the 4th Degree Knights of Columbus and the SERRA Club. The Flannery family would like to thank Celtic Hospice for their kindness and their professional care. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 12:30 Saturday, April 7, 2018 at St. Catherine Laboure Catholic Church, 4000 Derry St., Harrisburg. Private burial will be in St. Paul's Mission Church Cemetery, Douglasville. A viewing will be held from 11:30 AM Saturday until the time of the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Catherine Laboure Catholic Church, 4000 Derry St., Harrisburg, PA 17111.
