
William H. Packer, III, 72, of Harrisburg, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 6, 2014, in Spring Creek Nursing Home, surrounded by his family. Bill was born in Baltimore, MD, on June 13, 1942. He was the son of William H. Packer, Jr., and Geraldine F. (Phipps) Packer. Bill was a retired painting contractor and a graduate of John Harris High School. He was of the Protestant faith and a member of the Lawton American Legion Post 998. Bill enjoyed hunting, fishing, music, and dancing. Bill is survived by a daughter, Kimberly (Kim) Shaw and husband, Raymond, of Gravette, AR; two grandchildren, Chelesa and Brandon; a brother, Jack, and wife Carol, of Harrisburg; a sister, Patricia, and husband Darrell of Millerstown; two nieces, Falon Zerbe and Kristin Packer; two nephews Zachary Zerbe and John Packer. A service will be held Wednesday, September 10, 2014, at 11:30 am, in the Neill Funeral Home, 3501 Derry Street, with the Rev. Paul Kauffman officiating. Burial will follow in St. Peter's Cemetery, Mt. Pleasant Mills, PA. A viewing will be held Wednesday, September 10, from 9:30 am to 11:30 am, in the funeral home.
