She was a lifelong resident of Paxtang Borough. Yvonne was a graduate of John Harris High School, class of 1947.
She attended Penn State University, but chose to leave school to pursue a career as a secretary to the late Dr. Robert Morrison, Ophthalmologist.
Yvonne met her loving husband, the late Michael Rosenberger, at WTPA, now WHTM while doing volunteer work with the March of Dimes. Later, she worked as an Executive Secretary for Bankers Life Company of Des Moines (Principal Mutual Life), as well as the House of Representatives at the State Capitol.
In her earlier years she was involved in the Harrisburg Civic Club and The Historical Society of Paxtang. She loved social events and volunteered to help anyone in need.
She was member of Harrisburg Chapter #552, Order of Eastern Star , PA Grand Chapter.
Formerly Past Matron of Estrellita Chapter #512. Order of Eastern Star, Past District Deputy Grand Matron PA Grand Chapter of Order of Eastern Star, Grand Ruth of PA Grand Chapter Order of Eastern Star and many other appointments.
Yvonne was a lifetime member of Paxton Presbyterian Church from childhood and loved to talk about the historical movie (A Light in the Forest) which portrayed John Elder and The Paxton Boys. Still the oldest Presbyterian Church in constant use in Pennsylvania.
She is survived by her daughter Deborah Krekstein of Camp Hill and grandson Ryan Lysaght (April) of Mechanicsburg and three great-grandchildren, Vera, Ryan and Zak, who she adored! She was preceded in death by her brother Michael E. Powers. She will be deeply missed by her devoted family, dear friends and church.
A memorial service will be held at 4:30 PM Friday, March 21, 2025 in Neill Funeral Home, Paxtang, a visitation will be held from 4:00 PM Friday until the time of the service at the funeral home. The family asks in lieu of flowers donation may be made in her memory to Paxton Presbyterian Church, Leader Dogs for the Blind, or the Humane Society of Harrisburg.
