

Audrey was born in Jamaica, Long Island, NY, on September 6, 1915 to Leonard Wheeler Moritz and Mable Elma Godfrey.
She was also preceded in death by her first husband, William Royal Griffing, her son, Alan Douglass Griffing, and her second husband, James A. O’Hara.
Audrey graduated from Long Island University in 1938 with a Major in Biology and a Minor in Art. She taught Biology for a year at the University. In 1941 she became an Assistant Museum Curator at the Staten Island Institute of Arts and Sciences. Audrey moved to California in 1953 where she studied at the Pasadena Playhouse. When she graduated in 1957, she was asked to be Director of Admissions, which she was for several years. After moving to Santa Maria, CA in 1962, Audrey started her own television talk show. She interviewed local individuals regarding local activities. In 1967 she moved to Lake Elsinore, CA and helped train Arabian horses. She rode her Arabian horse, Muzzyson, in parades, carrying the American Flag or the flag of California. She was very active in the Lake Elsinore Eastern Star, being Worthy Matron twice.
Audrey is also survived by a daughter-in-law, Jessica Griffing of Maryland, four granddaughters, Genecia Schindel Johnson and husband, Anthony of CA, Christine Griffing Reese, and her mother Sylvia Reese of CA, Rachel Griffing of TX, and Chelsea Griffing of MD; also two great-granddaughters, Cassidy Rose and Haley Marie Johnson of CA, and her very dear and close companion, Robert Hutchins of CA.
