

She was born on October 25, 1933 in Worcester, MA, and was the daughter of the late Frederick W. and Ruth E. Greiner Norton.
After the family moved to Shrewsbury, MA, Barbara attended and graduated from Major Howard Beal High School in June 1951. She was an avid JMU fan and enjoyed cruises, golfing, and cooking. She was of the Catholic faith.
Barbara lived in Massachusetts, Albany, New York and Ohio where she worked for several banks.
On January 10, 1972, she moved to Harrisonburg and was employed by Packaging Corp. of America as Secretary to the General Manager. She also worked at Massanutten Development Ski Resort as a secretary on weekends.
On February 27, 1954 she married Daniel F. Sibley and was married for 18 years. On September 17, 1977, she married Robert Campbell Duke and was married for over 26 years when he passed away, due to an extended illness. She had been a very loving caregiver for Bob and also her mother during their illnesses.
She is survived by a good friend of over 66 years, Maryan Labaire of Worcester, MA; a god daughter, Nancy Brodeur and her daughter, Jillian, and her granddaughter, Callie Brodeur; several cousins in the Massachusetts, Florida, and Kansas areas; her good friends, Frank and Evelyn Nice and their family of Harrisonburg; and also longtime family friends, Gary and Kitty Suter of Harrisonburg.
The family will receive friends 7-8:00 PM, Tuesday, March 13, 2012 at Lindsey Funeral Home in Harrisonburg.
A funeral service will be held 2:00 PM, Wednesday, March 14, at the Chapel of the funeral home with Pastor Mark Landis officiating. Burial will be in Woodbine Cemetery.
