She was born October 11, 1947 in North Carolina and was the daughter of the late Curtis Wade Lewis and Betty Perkins Lewis Caulder.
Barbara received her undergraduate and master’s degree from East Carolina University in 1974. She received her Doctorate of Education from University of South Carolina in 1986. She was a master seamstress, artist and painter of watercolor.
She is survived by a step-daughter, Susan Heath (Jeff) Hot Springs AR; a step-son, Steven Fox (Debra), of Keswick, VA; four grandchildren, Katelyn Heath, Austin, Carson and Colton Fox; and her beloved dog, Goliath.
She was preceded in death by her husband, David E. Fox.
