She was born October 26, 1939, in Fort Valley, Virginia to the late Roland Franklin and Margaret Estaline Munch Cullers.
Betty began her education in a one room school in Fort Valley. She graduated with honors from Strasburg High School and an honors graduate from Dunsmore Business College in Staunton.
Her working career was challenging yet fulfilling one as an Executive or Confidential Secretary. Highlights of her career include secretary to the CEO of Shentel telephone company, Athletic Director University of North Carolina and she was a confidential secretary in the Cabinets of Governors Holton and Godwin, and the Commissionaire of Health in Virginia. She loved sports, especially UNC, jewelry and the company of friends and family. Betty and Frank retired to Harrisonburg in 2000.
Betty was a member of Muhlenberg Lutheran Church and several Lutheran Churches where she lived over the years. She was a voluntary secretary at Muhlenberg Lutheran Church and St. Luke Lutheran Church in Charleston, WV. She also volunteered with Meals on Wheels.
Betty married Frank W. Lambert on August 19, 1961. Along with her husband, she is survived by numerous nieces and nephews, a brother-in-law, Dr. James I. Lambert, sisters-in-law, Doris Koon and Lucinda S. Cullers and a God child, Susan H. Angelo (Chris).
She was preceded in death by her sisters, Stella Mae Cullers Bailey and Madeline Elizabeth Cullers Munch; her brothers, Michael H. Cullers and Ira R. Cullers; nieces, Vickie S. Mason and Katrinka Munch.
A Celebration of Life will be held March 8th, 2025 at 2pm at the Muhlenberg Lutheran Church with Pastor Lauren Eanes officiating . Burial was private.
