IN THE CARE OF
Lindsey Funeral Homes
Billie Conrad Mohler, 81, a resident of Hinton, passed away on Sunday, April 15, 2018, surrounded by his family.
He was born in Salt Lake City, Utah, on August 16, 1936 and was the son of the late Marvin Francis Mohler and Silvia Ione (Kenney) Mohler.
Billie attended Washington and Lee High School in Arlington and lived his entire adult life in the northern Virginia area until moving to Hinton in January 2012. He served in the U. S. Marine Corps before his career as a police officer with the Fairfax County Police Department for 30 years.
On March 17, 1962 he married Joyce Ann Hornberger, the love of his life; she preceded him in death on February 11, 2013.
He was a devoted husband and father, and he had a subtle yet delightful sense of humor, even through the last hours of his life. He enjoyed traveling, reading science fiction, and watching the Washington Nationals.
Surviving are three children, Dr. Debbie Mohler and husband, Ken Campbell, of Hinton; Sandy Thompson and husband, Jeff, of Crozet; Billy Mohler and wife, Carolyn, of Winchester. Also surviving are two grandchildren, Tye Thompson and wife Kadie, and their soon-to-be-born daughter, Phoebe June, of Bryan, TX, and Jake Thompson of Harrisonburg.
Mr. Mohler will be cremated at Lindsey Funeral Homes and Crematory in Harrisonburg, and a memorial service will be held at a later date.
