Catherine "Kitty" Anderson Gambill

She was born on September 26, 1925 in Oak Hill, WV, and was the daughter of the late John D. and Jane Marshall Anderson.

Kitty met her husband at Ashford General Hospital which is now The Greenbrier in White Sulphur Springs, WV, where he was recovering from a war injury. She has lived in Harrisonburg since 1947.

She was a member of the Harrisonburg Baptist Church. She and her husband were honorary members at Spotswood Country Club; was an avid golfer and won the Ladies Golf Championship 14 different years.

On June 7, 1946 she married Joseph F. Gambill, who preceded her in death on December 3, 2012.

She is survived by a son, John A. “Andy” Gambill and wife, Kelle, of Magnolia, TX; a daughter, Jane G. Coffaro of Harrisonburg; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

A graveside service will be 2:00 PM, Friday, August 16, 2013 at Eastlawn Memorial Gardens with Rev. Sam Jones officiating. There will be no viewing. A small reception will be held at Spotswood Country Club following the service.
