He was born on August 10, 1966, in Harrisonburg and was the son of the late Tommy L. and Marita S. Dovel Wadford.
David attended Harrisonburg High School. He worked as a specialist in drywall and sheet metal. He loved all animals and had many cherished pets throughout his lifetime. He especially enjoyed listening to music and had an incredible singing voice. He was an avid fan of sports and always had a joke to help lift spirits. He loved deeply and was always a friend to everyone he met. He will be remembered and missed for his kind heart, generosity and love of his friends and family.
David is survived by a sister, Heidi Fukushima of Harrisonburg; a brother, Lawrence Wadford (Julie) of Fort Lauderdale, FL; uncles, David Dovel, Harry Dovel and Harry Simmons; an aunt, Coraene Simmons; nephews, Matthew and Spencer; nieces, Alexandra and Ariel; a great nephew, Leo; a great niece, Raleigh; and numerous cousins and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Michael Wadford; grandparents, Robert A. and Vera Margaret Dovel; an uncle, Bruce Dovel; an aunt, Miriam Dovel; and a cousin, Danny Dovel.
Honoring his wishes, he will be cremated, and his ashes will be scattered in places dear to his heart. A celebration of his life will be held at a later date.
