Don was born on December 28,1931 in Chicago, IL and grew up on a small farm outside of South Haven, MI. He was the son of the late Thaddeus and Lillian Palczynski.
Don chose the U.S. Army as his career and proudly served his country in both Korea and Vietnam. He loved everything about aviation, achieving the title of Master Aviator during his 23 years of military service.
On June 21,1952, he married Suzanne E. Knight, who survives. Don and Suzanne enjoyed many stateside assignments over the years and an overseas tour in Germany. Retirement at an early age led to serving as the grain marketing manager for Rockingham Co-Op Farm Bureau in Harrisonburg, private pilot, and years of RVing with Suzanne where they traveled the U.S.
In addition to his wife of 73 years, Suzanne, Don is survived by a daughter, Stacy Hisey and husband Bill; a son, Erik Palczynski and wife Sharon; granddaughter, Erin Seal and husband Randy; great-grandsons Blane and Emmett Seal. Also surviving are brothers Ron Palczynski of CA and Doug Palczynski of CO; 3 nieces, 1 nephew, and 4 grand nephews.
