She was born in Harrisonburg, Virginia, on December 15, 1961, the daughter of Dr. Walter Franklin Green, III, and Vera Starr Preston Green. She was the granddaughter of Walter Franklin Green, Jr. and Mary Elizabeth Green, and granddaughter of Dr. H. Grant Preston and Vera Preston. She grew up in Harrisonburg, Virginia, and attended Harrisonburg High School.
After graduating high school, she attended Ferrum College, in Ferrum, VA. For many years after college, she worked in the hospitality industry before working as a medical assistant for her father. She developed a large network of friends which she maintained and enjoyed until her passing.
She loved her family and friends, and one of her dearest loves was her dog, Socks. Her mother was her best friend. Following in her father’s footsteps, she was deeply invested in the welfare of American veterans and supported them through her many volunteer efforts. She was very artistic and loved both music and art, especially painting. Her character was defined by exceptional generosity and kindness. She cherished the memories of growing up in the Asbury Methodist Church with her family. She loved the Lord. She will be missed by many.
Elizabeth is preceded in death by her infant sister, Mary Edna, and her oldest brother, Walter Franklin Green, IV.
She is survived by her brother, Dr. Preston Tabb Green, and his wife, Hilary Green (Hadleigh Elizabeth and First Lieutenant Ansley Starr, USMC, and her husband, First Lieutenant Matthew Fadel, USMC) of Florida; sister, Starr Wilson and husband, Gary Wilson (Christopher Wilson and wife, Katie Wilson (Kinsley, Noah), Collin Wilson (Sloane, Sawyer), and Julia Thomas and husband, Derek (Cooper) of Virginia; and sister in law, Judy Green (Arielle Margaret, Walter Franklin V, Warren Henry and Alexa Maria) of Virginia.
Elizabeth’s funeral service will be conducted at the Asbury Methodist Church (205 S. Main Street, Harrisonburg, VA 22801) at 3 p.m. on Friday, August 8, 2025. Reception in the church to follow. She will be buried at Woodbine Cemetery.
