To Our Family in Harrisonburg: Sorry to hear about my cousin. I first met him at his Bar Mitzvah. We traveled many hours from Baltimore. It was neat that he had my same name. I had a great time playing with my twin cousins Rodney and Randy even though they talked funny being from Virginia. I have kept in contact with him as a Facebook friend. I always looked up to him because he was a college football player. He was very proud of his career. A kind person. May his memory always bring us happiness and joy. Thanks Franklin Wayne Blatt (

My sincere condolences to the Blatt family. I have known Frank through the VTLA for over 20 years. My fondest memories were his cigar parties following our dinners. He never met a "stranger" and was the life of the party. He was a learned attorney, and a zealous and effective advocate for his clients. He was always eager to help a colleague with a legal issue or problem. He loved the law and was a pillar of the community. He will be missed. My thoughts and prayers are with you in this difficult time. Mark Cummings, Arlington, Va.

Frank was one of the finest men it has been my privilege to know. I was fortunate to work with Frank through the Virginia Trial Lawyers Association and the Virginia Family Law Coalition. He made all who joined our group feel welcomed and he was respected both for his legal knowledge and skills and his innate goodness. He will be missed but not forgotten.

To the Blatt family. You all have our deepest sympathy and prayers. Frank and I lived in very different parts of H'burg and also income levels of our families. Frank didn't care about none of that. He was just Frank. He treated me like a friend period. We have been gone 45 years and have heard nothing but praise from friends and family since we left the valley on how great a person he was. The Valley lost a great son. Mike & Diana Thagard

Frank was a fine lawyer and better man. I will fondly recall working with him on VTLA projects and our other times together. He was always positive, encouraging and selfless. A gentleman. A kind and decent man. May God bless him and his family.
