Dr T was one in a million! he was knowledgeable and very kind! He was my vet for almost 20 years I told all my neighbors and friends about him and they began to use him and they never had one bad thing to say! My min pin named rabbit was diagnosed with diabetes and Dr T. Took very good care of him and I don't think he would have lived as long as he did if it hadn't been for Dr T. To his family and all of his staff my condolences my heart and my soul goes out to you! He will be missed and I hope he's in heaven playing with all of his patients!
Sincerely,

Mrs. Tellekamp, I was so sorry to hear about the passing of your husband. Although, I didn’t know him, reading through all these comments shows me what kind of man he was. It is apparent he was so well loved and respected. Please know you and your family will be in my prayers. (Tampa Bay Elementary co-worker)

I was heart broken to read of his passing on January 4, 2021. He was recommended to me by a friend that used to work for Hillsborough County Animal Control. He told me that Dr. Tellencamp was the best veterinarian in Hillsborough County. I cannot disagree. He was a compassionate veterinarian and a great person. Our family misses him terribly. God rest his soul.

Dr. T- Thank you for all the care you gave my animals. You always knew right away what was wrong. You definitely named the hospital "Kindness" to reflect who you were. Your love for animals could be like no other. May you rest in peace and know you are never forgotten.

Dr. T was one of the most compassionate people/vets I have ever had the pleasure of knowing. I met Dr. T through my sister, Flea, that used to work for and with him. Over many years Dr. T took care of my feline babies and treated them as if they were his own. There isn't a vet I've used for as long or trusted as much as him. He will be sorely missed and always loved - pet and love on my feline babies in heaven my friend until we meet again. With much love and admiration ... Diana

My thoughts and prayers go out to Fred's family. May they find peace in their memories of him and continue to share stories and talk about him and carry his legacy by sharing about him. I was fortunate enough to meet Fred last year, and found him to be a fascinating charming man with a wonderful sense of humor. He will be dearly missed and I'll remember him always.

We shared a love for animals and most especially a love for Dobermans. I can say enough good things about him except he was kind . We used to have great talks.

Fred and I served together in the 109th Military Police Platoon, Special Troops, V Corps. Frankfurt/am, West Germany.
During our tour of duty my interaction with Fred showed me a man of honor, proud to serve and a man who could be counted on. Sadly I lost track of Fred until 2008 when during an effort to have a unit reunion we found him again. We did have the reunion but sadly Fred could not attend. My condolences to Fred’s family and his friends, we too miss him.

My heart is with all your family and friends. My heart is broken as I lost an amazing vet and friend. You always found a way to make me smile even when I was saying goodbye to one of my furry kids. There will never ever be another one like you I will go to Oregon and as I sit by the fire I will smile and remember fondly our chats. Fly high and free Doc. You will be deeply missed

Freddie was the greatest grandfather a child like me could ever have. He was such a good person. I know everyone misses him dearly. Sometimes Freddie and I would look up at the stars and would tell me about the stars and he would tell me about Orion's belt. If I had trouble with a science question he would help me in anyway he could. I truly miss him.

Fred was a close friend ever since we served together in Frankfurt, Germany at the 109th Military Police - circa 1962. We got together almost every year, in Tampa, on my way back from Ohio in the Fall. We chatted about old times and current events. He will be missed.

I have been happy with life

I am so sorry to hear of Dr. Tellekamp's passing. He was a great veterinarian. He was always Straight to the point, if he said this is what it is, that is what it was. I have been taking my animals to Dr. Tellekamp for many many years. It was like a family at his office. Everyone joked around and had a good time. He helped so many of my animals over the years. I was just there a couple months ago, a girl came in with an abandoned kitten that only weighed a pound. I took that kitten in and bottle fed it, brought it back to Dr. Tellekamp to check over a couple weeks later and he did not charge me. He was a special person and a wonderful vet. He will be missed in the community by all. He always made everything so affordable there was never a reason not to bring your animal in. Thank you for your time and years of service to all the wonderful pets you saved. Prayers and condolences to his family.

My relationship with Dr. T goes back longer than my marriage; I started with him in January of 1977 when it snowed in Tampa and I found a puppy shivering under my apartment stairwell. Dr. Kirkland was still at Kindness then and Jane was there, too. I feel so bereft today, knowing that my young dog won't get to grow old in Dr. T's care. Oh, what a kind and thoughtful man he was; never insisting on appointments or expensive tests, his diagnoses were made by the wisdom time and experience reveled to him. Mrs. T, you may remember my son, Henry, who went though Tampa Bay Blvd. Elementary. We are both very sad in thinking about your loss and hold you and Logan and your extended family in our prayers. I hope Doc was greeted with great joy at the Rainbow Bridge by thousands of his fur patients.

Dr Tellekamp will be missed by me and countless others more than I think he could ever have possibly imagined. I have never come across anyone in my years of rescue that understood animals the way he did. A true and genuine animal whisperer. I think Jesus put him on this Earth to help the most vulnerable of his creatures. And he fulfilled his mission beautifully. But he also genuinely had a beautiful soul. I like so many others loved the man. People come and go in your life but Dr T’s passing is leaving a hole in my heart that won’t be filled. I’ve been trying to find a new vet (as he was in the hospital) and I just sit there in these waiting rooms eyes tearing up. Pretty sure I’m not alone. Dr T was so fair to the poor and so many poor people would have never had access to vet care if it weren’t for him. His generosity probably saved hundreds of thousands of animals who otherwise would not have gotten a chance at a decent life or life at all. Dr T cared for his staff and I know they loved him like a father. And I constantly would talk to people in the waiting room who would tell me that they started coming to his vet office with their grandparents then their parents and now they came with their children. And I know no one else who was able to have a receptionist stay for over 45 years or more. That should tell you everything about the kind of man Dr T was. So sorry for your loss Mrs Tellekamp and to the family and Logan you’ve been so amazing with your father. I’m thrilled you got a chance to work with him closely at the end. But Heaven has a great man added to its ranks and God has one of his best children back with him. I will miss him. Much love, Deb Schmitt

I are so sorry to hear about Dr. Tellekamp. He has been such a wonderful doctor to my pets in the 20 years I have known him. He was kind and caring to all of our pets, who are our kids in this life, and to me when things were worrying me. He had such experience and I could always count on him. I will miss him and his awesome staff.
My sincere sympathy for his family and friends,
