A daughter of the late George and Evelyn Carson Smith, she was born on April 13, 1937, in Virginia and lived the majority of her life in Harrisonburg. Genevieve was a member of Mt. Sinai United Methodist Church and was retired from Royal Mart as store manager after 26 years.
Surviving is a son, Stacey Winegard of Harrisonburg; daughter, Sharon Pierson of Fernley, NV; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by husbands, Otis Winegard and Herman Conley; her son, Stephen Winegard; and two brothers, Lloyd and Edward Smith.
Funeral services will be held Friday, September 2, 2016, at 10:00 am at Mt. Sinai United Methodist Church with Rev. David Burch officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
